So Tuesday marked the end of the month and the end of my first foray into the NaNoWriMo world. I know earlier I had declared it an early success and while I hit my target of 50,000 words written in a month, I guess some others did not. I didn't find out until yesterday that only 21% of the people who agreed to NaNoWriMo actually completed their word quota. I was proud of myself before but knowing that just barely 1/5th of the participants finished, I feel a little extra good now.

I got used to the organization's software of keeping track of a daily word count so I already stuck my next project on there to keep an eye on my progress through that novel. I've never been one to force myself to sit down at the keyboard every single day and not leave until I get a certain number of pages or words down. I think when I have everything lined up in my head, I know what I need to write and it flows, but for the scenes where I stumble or start hesitating on where to go next, the daily quota idea will help me to keep pushing forward on the hard days where little inspiration comes if any at all.

I'm off to write some more word quota for the day. I hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving if you're a reader from the United States and your holiday season is starting off relaxed and stress free. Have a great week!
